The Military Heritage Collection of North Texas collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts to honor America's military veterans and to promote the rich military heritage and traditions of the United States military.
THE MILITARY HERITAGE COLLECTION
Located in the South East corner of Collin County in North Texas the collection is maintained as a 501C3 non profit museum collection.
Formed around 2008 the collection is entirely operated by unpaid volunteers and receives no external funding assistance.
The collection is open to the general public and hosts a growing number of veteran, school, youth, civic and other groups.
We stage a number of unique events of our own during the year and as part of an outreach program we provide military vehicles and artifacts for display at events all over the North Texas area.
Unlike many museums and collections we pride ourselves on having a living collection that visitors get to interact with.
The collection of period firearms forms an important part of our "HANDS ON HISTORY" experience and are often demonstrated to our visitors. By arrangement we can offer the public the opportunity to experience firing the weapons themselves.
We maintain a fleet of operating military vehicles from motorcycles to armored vehicles that we run for visitors on a regular basis. Vehicles from the collection regularly attend parades and events all over North Texas.
To see whats it's like to ride in one of our vehicles check out one of our videos on YOUTUBE.
We can arrange rides in the vehicles for scheduled groups, however we will make exceptions if time and weather permits..
HOURS OF OPERATION
The collection tends to be more active in the spring and summer, but we are open most weekends in the fall and winter. Please contact us prior to your visit to confirm we are open. If you need to come on a weekday please call and we will try to be available.
