The Military Heritage Collection of North Texas is organized and administered as a Texas Non Profit Corporation. The goal of the museum has always been to present and support activities that promote an interest, understanding and appreciation of the role of our Veterans and the military history of the United States.
We employ a unique "Hands On" model that promotes and encourages interaction with the exhibits, operating Military vehicles and equipment helping to bring history to life for our visitors. We would like to recognize and thank our many friends whose hard work, enthusiasm and patience allow us to reach out and bring history to life.
Also we need recognize the business people of Royse City, I would challenge any town to beat the mere two hours it took to get food donated for all our veteran visitors (and that time included a BBQ lunch break).
If you like small town texas life with friendly people you really need to look into royse city.
A collection of operational military vehicles is maintained to support our activities.
At present we have:
Military motorcycles and sidecar combo
Armored vehicles (tracked and wheeled)
Softskin vehicles such as Jeeps, Hmmwv etc.
Vehicles are primarily used for demonstrations but with prior arrangement we can provide rides in the armor and softskin vehicles.
UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
A large collection of US uniforms are on display, many of the uniforms having been donated by veterans or their families.
Continued donations of uniforms from our friends in the UK have allowed us to build a collection of British and Commonwealth uniforms. in addition we have uniforms from 18 other countries.
The Galleries contain over 30 uniformed mannequins, some set in small dioramas.
Head gear, helmets, field gear, radio equipment, switchboards, field phones and other material round off the displays.
SMALL ARMS AND ORDNANCE
One of the most popular activities we host are periodic live fire shoots.
Utilizing small arms from the museum and private collections we give visitors the opportunity to handle and shoot small arms they would normally only see in museums. Ammunition is donated so everyone gets to shoot.
We maintain regular displays of bayonets, inert ordnance and demilled crew served weapons.
EDUCATION AND RESOURCES
A fully equipped classroom has recently been completed to conduct lectures etc.
The classroom is equipped with a HD projection system and internet connection. We have a media collection of original material from WWI to the present available to educators.

MUSEUM SPONSORED EVENTS
The museum hosts a number of events throughout the year. Our biggest event is our annual memorial day open house to honor North Texas Veterans.
This year we fed 500 vets and thanks to a secret donor an additional 500 meals were donated to a shelter. Live entertainment, vehicle/weapon displays and living history presentations rounded off the activities.
In honor of Veterans day we host an open house (normally closest Sunday to the 11th) . Weather permitting we operate the vehicles, provide living history presentations and other activities.
Periodic events such as Small arm shoots and special interest events take place thoughout the year and the dates are published.
MILITARY VEHICLE COLLECTORS CLUB OF NORTH TEXAS
Many of our events are supported by our friends at the Military Vehicle Collectors Club of North Texas, the club welcomes owners of military vehicles of all periods and anyone with an interest in military vehicles. The club meets monthly and supports events all over the North Texas area. You can reach the club through their website
